It’s been a while since I posted on the blog, mainly because its been pretty manic over the last month.
I thought I’d post some highlights.
1. Younger Leaders weekend. On the last weekend of March Em and I were privileged to spend the weekend with other Younger Leaders from Newfrontiers churches around the country. Hosted By Jeremy and Ann Simpkins, this was a great time to be stirred up and to take time making new friends in similar positions from other churches.
2. Now and Elder. On the 28th March we returned from the younger leaders weekend early for my induction into Eldership atAscot Baptist Church. This was an amazing time, the church was packed, and God really spoke as the Elders, joined by Andrew Ryland laid hands on me and appointed me as an Elder. There were some great prophetic word both for me and the church as we move into this new season for us.
3. abcsix. We are now six weeks into our new Sunday evening meeting. It has gone really well so far, the numbers have fluctuated due to holidays but there is certainly a buzz each time we gather. I started by giving a vision of what the church is, and have now moved onto a small series called “prayer matters” looking at how we communicate with God. Last week I got those present to ask the questions on prayer that they would like answered over the next few weeks. Some great one’s in there. I may post more about this soon. You can find the talks from abcsix on “my talks” page.
4. Week of prayer. Last week we had our week of prayer. it was great! God Spoke! It was really good to pray for ourselves, our church, our town and our country. We kicked off each evening giving God the glory, focussing on him and what he wants for us. I love this quote from C.H. Spurgeon: “Prayer is the breath of faith. Prayer meetings are the lungs of the church.”
5. I believe, help my unbelief. This Sunday I preached from the account of Jesus return to Nazareth in Luke 4:14-30. We looked at the whole issue of unbelief, which is not lack of faith, but a decision NOT to believe. I beleive this was a very important day for us as a church as we accknowldeged unbelief, repented and asked God to fill us with faith. I pray that we really become a people full of God and faith; as we move into the things God has for us in the coming months and years.

6. Cell group. I love being part of a vibrant cell group. Last night we followed up from Sundays message, but ended up by asking each other: “what do you have faith for?” It was challenging and faith building. I love being church with these guys, and look forward to chilling out at a BBQ on monday.
What a great month! Thank you Lord!
